520		3	_aAim: The aim of this clinical study is to determine the reliability of the lingual retainer composite TRANSBOND (LR) for the adhesion of orthodontic retainers, compared to orthodontic adhesive TRANSBOND XT (XT) Methodology: ninety patient requiring a canine to canine lingual retainer were randomly divided into two groups. In group (1) TRANSBOND LR (LR) was used for bonding the lingual retainer composite while group (2) retainer had bonded by TRANSBOND XT (XT). Monthly visits were carried over a 6 months follow up period to assess any detachment occurring on teeth of both arches. All the data were submitted to statistical analysis . Result: The study found that TRANSBOND LR (LR) in the intervention group had a higher success rate and longer mean survival time compared to TRANSBOND XT (XT) in the control group. Additionally, there was no significant difference in success rates between incisors and canine teeth within or between the groups. These findings suggest that TRANSBOND LR may be a more effective adhesive in this context, as indicated by the higher success rates and longer survival time. Conclusion: The lingual retainer resin Composite TRANSBOND LR (LR) showed higher success than the resin composite used for bonding orthodontic bracket TRANSBOND XT (XT). Thus TRANSBOND LR can be used as an alternative for direct bonding of lingual retainer.
