520 _aA survey covering the main general methods used for the synthesis of pyrroloquinoxaline , pyrrolothienopyrazine and pyrrolothienodiazepine derivatives is presented A brief outline of basic pharmacology of serotonin (5 - hydroxytryptamine , 5 - HT) and also the medicinal importance of some fused pyrazine and diazepine is given The different methods of preparing the starting compounds , intermediates and the final compounds are thoroughly investigated Open field test was done to determine changes of animal behaviors and as screening for antipsychotic activity , thus it can be concluded that some of the test compounds showed central sedative effects and possible anti - anxiety activity
