520 _aThe field experiments were carried out at Agric Exp St , Fac of Agric , Cairo Univ , Giza , Egypt , during 2002 , 2003 and 2004 seasons to study the effect of climatic conditions on bolling , earliness , yield and fiber technology in cotton Six cotton genotypes belonging to Gossypium barbadense , L namely , Australian , Pima S6 , Giza 90 , Giza 88 , (G81 x G83) and [G84 x (G68 x G74) ] were planted on 21 March , 6 April and 21 April The experimental design was a Split - plot with four replications The obtained results revealed that early planting date on 21 March exhibited the highest values of total heat units and light intensity
