520 _aIn this study ,100 samples were collected , out of which 63 samples were from human patients and 37 samples were from animals. The percent of infection with S.aureus in nasal swabs, sheep pus from abscess, mastitis milk of cow and bumble foot in poultry were 99.9 % , 100 % , 100 % and 100% respectively. Methicillin resistant S.aureus (MRSA) were 66.6 % , 100 % , 77.7% and 100% respectively mec A gene was detected in all MRSA isolates either from human or animal samples. It was also detected in 80% of methicillin sensitive S.aureus (MSSA) strains isolated from human nasal swabs .PCR technique was used for mec A gene detection. PCR results were identical to disc diffusion method in 11 isolates out of 15 isolates from animal and human samples
