520 _aThis thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction about tumor necrosis factor-Ü and its inhibitors followed by the chemistry of quinolones and different methods of their synthesis. The second chapter shows the objectives of the work and the Schemes designed for the preparation of the target compounds. The third chapter consists of the theoretical discussion of the experimental work. The fourth chapter studies the experimental part of the thesis which contains the detailed procedures used for the synthesis of the target compounds and intermediates, in addition to the physical properties, elemental analysis and spectral data of the synthesized compounds. The fifth chapter is the biological evaluation of the final compounds which includes the evaluation of their TNF-Ü inhibitory activity and anticancer evaluation. The final and sixth chapter is the docking study of final compounds on tumor necrosis factor converting enzyme
