520 _aBackground : Myopic patients develop excessive vitreous liquefaction at a younger age. This is not matched with loosening of vitreoretinal adhesions. PVD can result in many retinal complications including retinal tears, RD and ERM. PVD can occur after LASIK as a result of the suction applied during flap creation. This is higher with mechanical microkeratomes compared to femtosecond laser systems. The incidence of PVD after LASIK ranges between 9.5 and 21% with mechanical microkeratomes and between 16% and 27% with iFS-60 and 85% with iFS-150 femtosecond laser systems.Purpose: To determine incidence of PVD after FS-LASIK using Alcon Wavelight FS-200.Methods: This is a prospective clinical trial that was conducted on 30 eyes of 15 patients in the interval between June 2017 and March 2018. Patients with no evidence of preoperative PVD using dynamic B-scan US underwent FS-LASIK. Postoperative dynamic B-scan US was repeated 3 weeks later to determine whether PVD developed. Results: Only 3 eyes developed PVD postoperatively with an incidence of 10%.Conclusion: Incidence of PVD following FS-LASIK using Alcon wavelight FS-200 is lower than that reported with other femtosecond laser systems with lower frequency
