| 520 | _aBackground: The aim of this study was to investigate whether diffuse hepatic and thyroid bed uptake of 131I on post-ablative whole body iodine scans (PAWBIS) of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) have any relevance for clinical outcome and parameters. Patients and Methods: We prospectively investigated 195 patients with DTC, who were treated at Kasr-Alainy Hospital, Cairo University from 2015 to 2017. Grades of hepatic and thyroid bed uptake on 131I whole body scan were classified from 0 to 3 by visual assessment. Recurrence-free survival was evaluated with the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis. Results: Male patients (p< 0.004) above 45 years (p < 0.005) having tumors larger than 1 cm (p = 0.005), multiple tumor foci (p < 0.02), and a higher TNM stage (p < 0.003) with positive history of metastatic cervical LNs (p < 0.05) were associated with bad outcomes. Female patients, unifocal tumors and high grades of liver uptake were identified as independent good prognostic factors with (p values 0.048, 0.042, 0.009) respectively.
