520		3	_aPurpose: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the therapeutic effect of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation on lichen planus patient. Subject and methods: Thirty patients who had lichen planus with age ranged from 25-40 years were selected randomly from El-Saff Hospital, only who agreed to be volunteers participated in the study and were randomized into two groups of equal number, 15 patient for each group. Group (A) received medical medication and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)3times/week for 4 consecutive weeks plus medical medication (topical corticosteroids and antihistamine). Group (B) who only received the same medical medication only (topical corticosteroids and anti-histamine) .Parameters: Itching visual analogue scale (VAS) and Dermatology life quality index. Results: Compared to result before and after TENS treatment, our study showed that there was significant decrease in the results of visual analogue scale (VAS) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI); but the result of group (A) were superior to that of group (B) when comparing the results of two groups together.Conclusion: It can be concluded that TENS was beneficial and had a good effect on pruritus in lichen planus patients
520		3	_aالغرض من الدراسة الحالية هى دراسة فاعلية بالتنبيه الكهربائي للأعصاب عبر الجلد على الحكة فى مريض الحزازالمنبسط واستغرقت الدراسة 8 أسابيع متتالية اشترك فيها 30 مريضا تم اختيارهم من قسم الجلدية مستشفى الصف المركزى بالجيزة تتراوح أعمارهم ما بين 25-40 عاما من الذكور والأناث وتم تقسيمهم عشوائيا إلى مجموعتين متساويتين ، المجموعة الأولى تكونت من 15 مريضا ممن تلقوا العلاج بالتنبيه الكهربائي والعلاج الدوائى المكون من مضادات الهيستامين والكورتيزون الموضعية والمجموعة الثانية تكونت من 15 مريضا ممن تلقوا فقط العلاج الدوائى المكون من مضادات الهيستامين والكورتيزون الموضعية ولقد تم تقييم فاعلية العلاج عن طريق مقياس شدة الألم و النسخة العربية من مقياس جودة حياة المصابيين بأمراض جلدية ولقد أظهرت النتائج أن هناك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين كلا المجموعتين وكانت الأفضلية لصالح المجموعة العلاجية الأولى.
