An Excitation Particle Filter ( EPF ) is introduced for object tracking . Multiple likelihood functions : position, gray level intensity and similarity likelihood are proposed . EPF excites the particles if their weights fall below a memorized weight value . Three novel hardwar architectures of the Sample Important Resample Filter are implemented on FPGA
