A parent with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) child suffers from psychological stress, depression and parental role dysfunction, this state consequently had negative effect on their coping strategies, role, and child prognosis. The aim of the study was to assess parent's stress and coping strategy with level of severity of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. A descriptive correlation design was utilized in this study. purposeful sample consisted of 150 parent with ADHD child attending at out-patient clinic of the center of social and preventive medicine. Four tools were used to measure the current study variables, socio-demographic data sheet, parent stress Index (PSI), coping strategies questionnaire and conners test. The result revealed that, there were negative significant correlation between stress and coping (p=0.0001). also represented that, there was statistically significant relation between number of siblings and parent's stress, and their coping (p=.002). The study concluded that it is important to consider parent's stress and their used coping strategies in families of children with ADHD. Clinical guidelines and therapeutic approaches for parent's stress, coping and ADHD are not yet available but are disparately needed, In-service training should be applied for psychiatric nursing staff to be able to deal with this type of behavior are recommended
