Summary, etc. This study is designed to study the effect of carbide forming elements such as V, <br/>Nb and Cr on the characteristic properties of S5 tool steel. In this work, five heats <br/>were prepared with different contents of carbide forming elements via vacuum <br/>meting and the effect of heat treatment (hardening, tempering and deep cryogenic <br/>treatment at - 196℃) of different steels on mechanical properties was <br/>investigated. The results of microscopic examination ,showed that the basic <br/>structure for the tested samples are tempered martensite for traditional S5 samples <br/>and fine tempered martensite for other micro alloyed samples. Wear rate also <br/>investigated by using pin on disc test at different loads 50 N and 100N with <br/>identification of friction coefficient through wear test.Scanning electron <br/>microscope was used to study the worn surfaces of the tested samples.

Summary, etc. تم تصميم هذه الدراسة لدراسة تأثير عناصر تشكيل الكربيد المختلفة مثل الفاناديوم والنيوبيوم والكروم على الخواص الميكانيكية لصلب العدة S5. في هذا العمل، تم تحضير خمس عينات بمحتويات مختلفة من عناصر تكوين الكربيد وتم فحص تأثير المعالجة الحرارية (التصلب والاعتدال والمعالجة التبريدية باستخدام النيتروجين المسال عند درجة حرارة - 196 درجة مئوية) على الخصائص الميكانيكية. تم حساب الأوستنيت المحتفظ به للعينات بواسطة طريقة حيود الأشعة السينية، كما تم استخدام اختبار الصدم لتحديد صلابة جميع العينات بعد ظروف المعالجة الحرارية المختلفة. أظهرت نتائج الفحص المجهري أن البنية الاساسية للعينات المختبرة عبارة عن مارتنسيت مخفف لعينات S5 التقليدية ومارتنسيت دقيق التركيب للعينات الاخرى من السبائك الدقيقة
