Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Summary: The health and the safety of pharmaceutical products consumers are protected by the national control laboratories. Prior the pharmaceutical product is approved to the market; Several tests must be applied to ensure that these products meet the accepted standard of quality, efficacy and safety. However, time consuming method is usually stood as barrier to achieve fast results. This study concerns developing fast, simple, cheap, accurate and accessible analytical methods for the determination of selected anticoagulant drugs. Using reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography, stability study of tirofiban hydrochloride was studied. Moreover, tyrosine the synthetic starting material of tirofiban hydrochloride could be quantified from 1 æg mL-1. Tirofiban hydrochloride, rivaroxaban and apixaban ternary mixture could be determined accurately. Then, spectrofluorimetric methods were introduced for the determination of tirofiban hydrochloride and apixaban. Also, chemometric multivariate calibration techniques namely; classical least squares, principle component regression and partial least square regression were used for the simultaneous determination of tirofiban hydrochloride and tyrosine. Artificial neural networks were also applied to UV spectrophotometric data for the simultaneous determination of tirofiban hydrochloride and tyrosine
