In this paper, an effective, selective, and inexpensive Cr(III) ions modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE) based on benazepril (BNZ) was developed and described. It shows a good Nernstian slope of 19.20 + 0.39 mV decade-1 over a wide linear range of 8.0 {u00D7} 10-6{u2013} 1.0 {u00D7} 10-1 mol L-1 with a fast response time (10 s) and can be applied for measurements for at least 54 days with negligible change in results. The proposed sensor was pH-Independent in the range of 2.5{u2013}6.5 and showed an excellent selectivity towards Cr(III) ions over many other cations. The Cr(III)-BNZ surface interaction was investigated by using the energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The proposed MCPE was completely validated according to the EURACHEM guidelines. Lastly, the proposed electrode efficiency for trace amount determination of Cr(III) ions in various food samples was examined, and the obtained results were compared with the results of the inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES)
