The diverse physiological actions of the pineal neurohormone melatonin are mainly mediated through activation of two G-protein-coupled receptors MT₁, and MT₂. These receptors are known to form homo-and heterodimers with distinct functions and properties opening new perspectives for drug design and drug treatment. The bivalent ligand approach is a common strategy for targeting dimeric GPCRs
