At a time of current nursing shortage, it is important to understand the reasons why nurses intend to leave the profession. Decision to leave might be indicative that nurses are not committed to their profession. Aim: This study aimed to explore the factors contributing to career change among nurses working at different Sohag city hospitals. Subject and Methods: Descriptive exploratory design was adopted to conduct this study. The study was conducted at the Main three governmental hospitals in Sohag city. The study participants were (250) all categories of nursing staff from all age categories and different educational levels. Tools: Career Satisfaction questionnaire and Anticipated Career Change questionnaire were used for data collection. Results: Based on the analysis of the participant`s responses, the result revealed that there was a highly significant negative correlations between career change decision and cultural satisfaction (r= -0.279, p = 0.000). Conclusion: The study revealed that the majority of study participants were dissatisfied with nursing career. Moreover, there was a significant negative correlation between career change decision and total Career Satisfaction. Recommendations: Nursing faculties, schools of nursing and nursing managers can use this knowledge to understanding predictors of career change among nurses which help them to formulate strategic plans to maximize nurse{u2019}s attraction and retention in the workforce
