Purpose: This piece of research aims to investigate how gender
stereotyping may change perceived female leadership
effectiveness.



Methodology: A quantitative approach was utilized and
accordingly a questionnaire was designed to investigate the
relationship between the constructs. A valid 497 questionnaires
were collected through a non-probability / convenience
sampling technique from employees under the supervision of
female leaders from banks in Egypt. Smart PLS software was
used to analyze the data collected.



Findings: The results indicated that gender stereotyping
negatively impacts perceived female leadership effectiveness.
The results showed that both males and females had negative
views of female leaders. It also highlighted that determining
the perceived female leadership effectiveness approach to adopt
is affected by the leadership style followed by the leader. It also
showed that the relationship is moderated by gender
stereotyping.



Originality: The research filled in a research gap by
investigating the impact of gender stereotyping on perceived
female leadership effectiveness.



Theoretical Implications: This research contributes to the
literature of business management through investigating the
relationship between gender stereotyping and perceived female
leadership effectiveness.



Practical Implications: This study helps the leading
developed contributing countries to direct their programs that
aid promoting gender equality and channeling female rights in
the Middle East. It contributes to establishing a framework
upon which researchers could depend when researching
perceived effectiveness in Egypt. It assists policy makers figure
out the means to highlight the effectiveness of the leader to
employees to enhance the results of the team led by female
leaders.

The contribution of this study was to study the perceptions
regarding female leaders in Egypt as a Middle Eastern country.
Gender research in countries with old fashioned cultures as
Egypt, is an area that is still mostly unexplored. The study’s
main goal aimed to provide future researchers with a better
understanding of the current position of Egyptian females in
leadership.



In addition, The National Council for Women has been trying
to find new means of enhancing the situation of females in
Egyptian society and implementing social justice regarding
how females are perceived in political, economic and social
fields. This study can help Egypt achieve its 2030’s vision. Purpose: This piece of research aims to investigate how gender

المنهجية: تبنت الدراسة منهجية كمية، حيث صُمم استبيان لقياس العلاقة بين المتغيرات ذات الصلة. جُمعت 497 استبانة صالحة للتحليل عبر عينة غير احتمالية (راحة) من موظفين يعملون تحت إشراف قيادات نسائية في قطاع البنوك بمصر. واستُخدم برنامج SmartPLS لتحليل البيانات واختبار الفرضيات.
النتائج العلمية: أظهرت النتائج أن الصور النمطية المتعلقة بالنوع تؤثر سلباً على إدراك فعالية القيادة النسائية لدى كلٍّ من الذكور والإناث. كما بينت الدراسة أيضًا أن نمط القيادة المتبع یؤثر على إدراك فعالیة القیادة النسائیة وأثرت الصورة النمطية بشكل سلبي على العلاقة.

الأصالة العلمية: تسد هذه الدراسة فجوة بحثية من خلال استكشاف أثر الصور النمطية على إدراك فعالية القيادة النسائية، خاصة في السياق المصرفي المصري.
الإسهامات النظرية: تضيف الدراسة إلى أدبيات الإدارة والأعمال من خلال فحص العلاقة بين الصور النمطية وإدراك فعالية القيادة النسائية.
الإسهامات العلمية: تساعد نتائج الدراسة الدول المتقدمة والجهات المانحة على توجيه برامج تعزيز المساواة بين الجنسين وترسيخ حقوق المرأة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط. كما توفر إطاراً بحثياً يمكن للباحثين الاعتماد عليه في دراسات مستقبلية حول إدراك الفعالية القيادية في مصر، وتساعد صانعي السياسات على ابتكار وسائل لبيان فعالية القيادة للموظفين بهدف تحسين أداء فرق العمل التي تقودها قيادات نسائية.
وتبرز هذه الدراسة تصورات المجتمع المصري تجاه القائدات في بلدٍ يجمع بين تقاليدٍ متجذرة وثقافةٍ عصرية، حيث لا تزال أبحاث نوع الجنس في مثل هذه السياقات غير مكتملة. كما تُسهم نتائجها في دعم جهود المجلس القومي للمرأة لتعزيز مكانة المرأة في المجالات السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية، بما يتماشى مع رؤية مصر 2030.
