Summary, etc.	Background: Children with Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDDs) <br/>such as Cerebral Palsy (CP), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), and Down <br/>Syndrome (DS) appear to be disproportionately affected by feeding <br/>difficulties. It is therefore important to identify and assess these problems <br/>early in order to provide the necessary support. <br/>Objective: This article aims to develop and assess the reliability of a new <br/>Arabic version of the Feeding Handicap Index for children with <br/>developmental disabilities and to evaluate the correlation with the Arabic <br/>Pediatric EAT-10 questionnaire combined with the FEES examination. <br/>Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted at the <br/>Phoniatrics Unit, Kasr Al-Aini Hospital, Cairo University. The study <br/>included 88 Egyptian caregivers of preschool children (44 children with <br/>NDDs and 44 typically developing children). The internal consistency, <br/>reliability, and validity of the Arabic Feeding Handicap Index For <br/>Children (A_FHI_C) questionnaire were assessed using statistical <br/>analyses and correlation with FEES findings. <br/>Results: The A_FHI_C questionnaire showed good internal consistency <br/>(Cronbach alpha = 0.842) and positive correlations with the Arabic <br/>Pediatric EAT-10 questionnaire. Compared with the other group, children <br/>with Cerebral palsy and both intellectual disability, and Down syndrome <br/>had more significant difficulties in PFD in physical, functional, and <br/>emotional domains. It was able to differentiate well between cases and <br/>controls and has a robust correlation with FEES findings for pharyngeal <br/>and esophageal domain. <br/>Conclusion: The A_FHI_C is a dependable and valid tool for feeding <br/>problems assessment in children who have neurodevelopmental disorders. <br/>The tool’s features are in line with FEES outcomes, thereby allowing it to <br/>be applied as a screening tool in practice, enabling quick pinpointing and <br/>management of feeding problems in children for superior feeding <br/>outcomes.

Summary, etc.	الخلفية: يبدو أن الأطفال ذوي الإعاقات النمائية العصبية، مثل الشلل الدماغي، والإعاقة الذهنية، ومتلازمة داون، يتأثرون بشكل غير متناسب بصعوبات التغذية. لذلك، من المهم تحديد هذه المشكلات وتقييمها مبكرًا لتوفير الدعم اللازم.<br/>الهدف: تهدف هذه المقالة إلى تطوير وتقييم موثوقية نسخة عربية جديدة من مؤشر صعوبة التغذية للأطفال ذوي الإعاقات النمائية، وتقييم ارتباطها بالنسخة العربية من استبيان EAT-10 للأطفال، بالإضافة إلى فحص FEES.<br/>المنهجية: أُجريت دراسة تحليلية مقطعية في وحدة أمراض الصوت بمستشفى قصر العيني، جامعة القاهرة. شملت الدراسة 88 من مقدمي الرعاية المصريين لأطفال ما قبل المدرسة (44 طفلًا من ذوي الإعاقات النمائية العصبية و44 طفلًا من ذوي النمو الطبيعي). تم تقييم الاتساق الداخلي، والموثوقية، والصلاحية لمؤشر إعاقة التغذية للأطفال باللغة العربية (A_FHI_C) باستخدام التحليلات الإحصائية والارتباط بنتائج تنظير البلعوم الأنفي بالمنظار (FEES).<br/>النتائج: أظهر استبيان A_FHI_C اتساقًا داخليًا جيدًا (معامل ألفا لكرونباخ = 0.842) وارتباطات إيجابية مع استبيان EAT-10 للأطفال باللغة العربية.<br/>مقارنةً بالمجموعة الأخرى، عانى الأطفال المصابون بالشلل الدماغي والإعاقة الذهنية، ومتلازمة داون، من صعوبات أكبر في اضطرابات التغذية في المجالات البدنية والوظيفية والعاطفية.<br/>وتمكن الاستبيان من التمييز بشكل جيد بين الحالات والمجموعات الضابطة، وله ارتباط قوي بنتائج تنظير البلعوم الأنفي بالمنظار (FEES) في مجال البلعوم والمريء.<br/>الخلاصة: يُعد مؤشر A_FHI_C أداة موثوقة وصالحة لتقييم مشاكل التغذية لدى الأطفال الذين يعانون من اضطرابات النمو العصبي. تتوافق خصائص الأداة مع نتائج فحص التنظير الليفي بالمنظار (FEES)، مما يسمح بتطبيقها كأداة فحص عملية، مما يتيح تحديد مشاكل التغذية لدى الأطفال وإدارتها بسرعة لتحقيق نتائج تغذية أفضل.
