| Summary, etc. | Background: Neck pain is one of the common health disorders during the <br/>postnatal period. It can lead to a significant reduction in activities, increased <br/>discomfort and poor quality of life for the lactating mothers. Purpose: This <br/>study was conducted to determine the effect of Alexander technique on neck <br/>pain and quality of life in lactating women. <br/>Methods: Seventy-two lactating women suffering from neck pain <br/>participated in the study. They were assigned randomly into two groups <br/>equal in number. Control group: women received conventional therapy in the <br/>form of (moist heat for 30 min, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation <br/>(TENS) for 25 min( 5 times per week for 5 weeks. Study group: women <br/>received the same conventional therapy as the control group in addition to <br/>the Alexander technique which was applied for 60 min, 2 classes per week, <br/>for 5 weeks. Each woman in each group was assessed before and after 10 <br/>sessions of the treatment through Numeric pain rating scale (NRS) to <br/>evaluate pain intensity, Goniometer to evaluate neck range of motion, Neck <br/>disability index to evaluate neck disability and SF-36 questionnaire to <br/>evaluate quality of life. <br/>Results: Both groups showed significant improvements within-group across <br/>all outcome measures (p < 0.05). However, the study group exhibited <br/>significantly greater improvements in (NRS, cervical ROM, NDI, and SF-<br/>36) (p < 0.01). <br/>Conclusion: Adding Alexander technique to conventional therapy should be <br/>suggested as an effective treatment program for neck pain in lactating <br/>women. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يُعد ألم الرقبة من الاضطرابات الصحية الشائعة خلال فترة ما بعد الولادة، وقد يؤدي إلى انخفاض كبير في مستوى النشاط، وزيادة الانزعاج، وتدهور جودة حياة الأم.الهدف: أُجريت هذه الدراسة لتحديد تأثير تقنية ألكسندر على آلام الرقبة وجودة الحياة لدى النساء المرضعات.<br/>الطريقة: شاركت 72 امرأة مرضعة يعانين من آلام في الرقبة في هذه الدراسة. تم توزيعهن بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتينمتساويتين في العدد:المجموعة الضابطة:تلقت النساء علاجًا تقليديًا تضمن تطبيق حرارة رطبة لمدة 30 دقيقة، وتحفيز الأعصاب الكهربائي عبر الجلد (TENS) لمدة 25 دقيقة، وذلك بمعدل 5 مرات أسبوعيًا لمدة 5 أسابيع.المجموعة التجريبية: تلقت النساء نفس العلاج التقليدي كما في المجموعة الضابطة، بالإضافة إلى تطبيق تقنية ألكسندر لمدة 60 دقيقة، مرتين أسبوعيًا، لمدة 5 أسابيع.<br/>تم تقييم كل امرأة في كل مجموعة قبل وبعد 10 جلسات علاج باستخدام مقياس التقييم الرقميللألملقياس شدة الألم،وجهاز قياس زاويةالحركة(المنقلة) لقياس مدى حركة الرقبة،ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبةلتقييم درجة الإعاقة في الرقبة.،واستبيانSF-36لتقييم جودة الحياة.<br/>النتائج:أظهرت نتائج المجموعتان تحسنًا ذا دلالة إحصائية في جميع مؤشرات القياس بعد العلاج<br/>(p < 0.05).وعند المقارنة بين المجموعتين، أظهرت المجموعة التجريبية تحسنًا أكبر وبشكل ملحوظ في مقياس الألم الرقمي، ومدى حركة الرقبة، ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبة، واستبيان جودة الحياة (p < 0.01).<br/>الاستنتاج: يُوصى بإضافة تقنية ألكسندر إلى البرنامج العلاجي التقليدي المكوّن من الحرارة الرطبة وTENS كخيار علاجي فعّال لآلام الرقبة لدى النساء المرضعات. |
