The current research aims to explore the reality of promoting the values of citizenship in secondary schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of contemporary local and global variables. The current research relied on the mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative), and the questionnaire and personal interview were used as tools for field research. The results of the research showed that there is a weakness and deficiency in promoting the values of citizenship in secondary schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of contemporary local and global variables. This deficiency was related to the objectives of secondary education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to the role of the teacher, school administration, curricula and student activities. Accordingly, the research developed a proposed vision to address this deficiency.
