Recognition and destruction of leukemic blasts by the immune system is of great interest for the development of immuntherapeutic strategies in AML . T- cell activation requires T-cell receptor recognition and binding to major histocompatability complex (MHC) complex/angtigen presented by an antigen-presenting cell (APC) and the binding of ligands for the T - cell costimulatory receptors CD28 and CTLA - 4, ie, CD80/B7 - 1 and CD86/B7 - 2, respectively
