Post-partum hemorrhage is a significant cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. Most post-partum hemorrhages are caused by uterine atony and occur in the immediate post-partum period. The etiologies of primary PPH are most easily understood as abnormalities of one or more of four basic processes. As a memory aid these processes can be thought of as the four T's-Tone, Tissue, Trauma and Thrombin
