This thesis proposes a method to determine an estimute of a vehicle's velocity using the optical flow obtained from a single camera mounted on an autonomous vehicle. The velocity component of main concern is that in the direction of the vehicle's roll axis. Hence, the proposed hypothesis is that the velocity of the vehicle is directly proportional to the mean optical flow lines motion into or away from the center of the frame with reference to the camera's previous position
