Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: The research provides accurate analysis about short urban weaving sections, based on field data. The research selects 12 weaving sites, which consist of 2 suburban sections, 4 rotaries, 3 one-sided sections and 3 two-sided sections. Speed and volume data are collected from each site by video observation at AM peak hour and at PM peak hour. Volume models and speed models are developed, by regression of extracted data. Los of service is calculated for all sections to state critical sections, based on density and weaving delay. the previous models are used to solve weaving conflicts in critical sites. Cairo university intersection and Abdelmonem Riad square are the most critical sections, so traffic control is suggested for them
